RU 24969 hemisuccinate is a preferential5-HT_1Bagonist, with aK_iof 0.38 nM, but also displays appreciable affinity for the5-HT_1Areceptor(K_i=2.5 nM), and has low affinity for other receptor sites in the brain. RU 24969 hemisuccinate could decrease fluid consumption and increase forward locomotion^[1].

RU 24969 (10 μM) reduces K⁺-stimulated release of [³H]-5-HT from ratfrontalcortex slices in vitro^[2].

RU 24969 (0.03-3.0 mg/kg; s.c.) dose-dependently decreases water consumption in water deprived rats^[1].
RU 24969 (0.3-3.0 mg/kg; s.c.) dose-dependently increases forward locomotion^[1].
